Background
Institutional Context
Following the completion of the first Executive tenure in 2018, the Board of Trustees had provided institutional stewardship from around August/September 2018, strengthening systems, committees and programmes.
By 2021 the Association was ready to return day-to-day administration to an elected Executive Committee.
The Record
The Election
FGSCAA conducted elections for a new Executive administration at the Festac Grammar School premises.
The electoral process included physical voting as well as proxy/online voting, allowing members who could not attend in person to take part.
Decisions & Developments
What the Record Shows
Subsequent Development
- The elected leadership was formally sworn in on 11 July 2021, when the Board of Trustees handed over day-to-day executive administration.
- Changes occurred between the election and the swearing-in, so the officers sworn in on 11 July 2021 are not identical to the May election result.
Why It Matters
Institutional Significance
The election marked the return to elected operational leadership and showed that the Association could run a structured electoral process that included members participating remotely.
