Background
Institutional Context
The resolutions open by restating the Association’s founding purpose. FGSCAA was founded in February 2016 to reunite the Class of 1998 and all who contributed to the school’s success, to encourage participation in the FGS community, to create scholarship opportunities and to give back to support the ongoing success of Festac Grammar School.
The document records that, following the 2016–2018 Executive administration led by the Immediate Past President, Mr. Adekunle Osobu, the Board of Trustees took charge of the Association’s leadership. It records that the outgoing administration handed over successfully, with a reported balance of ₦246,263.64 in the Association’s then-existing UBA PLC account.
That balance is a historical figure recorded on 18 August 2018. It is not the Association’s current financial position.
The Record
Summary of the Resolutions
The Board resolved to return to the Association’s founding blueprint and to ensure that the 2018/2019 financial year was well supported with programmes, events and meetings. The document then sets out its resolutions and proposals under a series of headings, summarised below by theme.
Each theme is labelled to show whether the document records it as a resolution or as a proposal for future development. The document itself closes by inviting questions and noting that some of the topics remained open for discussion.

What the Record Shows
Implementation Not Independently Established
The document records what the Board resolved and proposed in August 2018. It does not show which measures were later carried out. This record therefore does not state that the following were implemented:
- the 2018/2019 dues schedule, life membership and meeting levies;
- the move to Sterling Bank and the new signatories;
- the website, handbook, year book and bi-annual newsletter;
- the ad hoc committees, welfare benefits, loan opportunities and co-operative scheme;
- the proposed 8 December 2018 anniversary reunion;
- the business ventures and endowment fund.
Subsequent Development
- The Board of Trustees provided institutional stewardship from 2018 until the July 2021 handover to the second elected Executive administration.
Why It Matters
Institutional Significance
The 18 August 2018 resolutions mark the point from which the Board of Trustees resumed operational stewardship. They set out an ambitious framework of meetings, dues, committees, digital communication, welfare and institutional development, opening the period of BOT consolidation that lasted until 2021.
