President's Foreword
Message from the President
Dear Distinguished Classmates,
It is with great pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the relaunch of the FGSCAA Alumni Bulletin.
As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of our Association, founded in 2016, we are reminded that what began as a desire to reconnect with our former schoolmates has grown into an enduring community of friendship, mutual support, service and shared responsibility.
Our journey has not been without challenges. Like every evolving institution, we have experienced moments of progress, difficult decisions and opportunities to strengthen our structures. Yet through these experiences, the bonds that unite us as members of the Class of 1998 have remained central to our collective identity.
The relaunch of this Bulletin represents more than the return of a publication. It is a renewed commitment to communication, transparency, participation and the preservation of our shared history.
We acknowledge the efforts of those who produced our earlier quarterly bulletins beginning in 2020. Their contributions laid a foundation upon which we now seek to build a consistent platform for celebrating our members, documenting our achievements and sharing the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead.
The year 2026 has been particularly significant for our Association. We have commemorated a decade of existence, undertaken important governance developments and welcomed a new Executive Committee entrusted with advancing the collective interests of our members.
Our commitment to educational advancement and service to our alma mater remains unwavering. From our science laboratory rehabilitation project to the scholarships awarded to deserving graduates and our wider community outreach initiatives, we have demonstrated what becomes possible when classmates unite behind a common purpose.
Looking ahead, the approved Scholarships and Educational Advancement Programme scheduled to commence in January 2027 offers an opportunity to strengthen this legacy, subject to the necessary funding and implementation arrangements.
Equally important is our responsibility to one another. Through member welfare, professional networking, business opportunities, mentorship and fellowship, we must continue to build an Association in which every member feels a sense of belonging and recognises the value of participation.
Our forthcoming physical meetings, the End-of-Year All Black Party and preparations for the Third Homecoming Reunion in 2028 are further opportunities to renew friendships and reinforce the spirit of togetherness that has sustained us over the years.
As President, I recognise that the strength of FGSCAA does not reside in any individual office or leadership position. It rests in the commitment, goodwill, sacrifice and participation of our members.
I therefore encourage every classmate to remain engaged, support our collective initiatives, contribute ideas and embrace the responsibility of building an Association that future generations of our school community can look upon with pride.
To the Board of Trustees, members of the Executive Committee, our committees, past leaders and every classmate who has contributed time, resources and service to our Association, I express my sincere appreciation.
May this new chapter strengthen our unity, deepen our commitment to one another and inspire even greater accomplishments.
One Class. A Lifelong Community.
We Lead and Others Follow.
