FGSCAA held its July 2025 General Meeting at the Festac Grammar School Hall in Festac Town, Lagos, as the Association entered the 2025/2026 financial year.
The meeting reviewed the state of the Association, member participation and financial-year obligations, preparations for the 2025 Homecoming programme, proposed scholarship support for Festac Grammar School students and several member-related matters.
The meeting commenced at 12:33 PM and closed at 4:03 PM.

Opening Proceedings
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Gerald Azonobo, at 12:33 PM.
The opening prayer was said by Pastor Abodunde, after which members rendered the National Anthem and the Festac Grammar School Anthem.
Matters arising
Previous Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting had been circulated on the Association’s WhatsApp platform because the Secretary was unavailable.
With no correction raised, Patrick Okeke moved the adoption of the minutes and Ayo Ogundiyi seconded the motion.
Welcome & State of the Alumni
Participation, Fellowship & Institutional Responsibility
BOT Chairman Gerald Azonobo welcomed members and encouraged greater fellowship, mutual regard and participation in the Association’s activities.
In his State of the Alumni update, he reiterated the importance of members participating fully in FGSCAA programmes and institutional responsibilities.
Financial Year Update
2025/2026 Financial Year
The Chairman presented an update on the Association’s financial position at the close of the previous financial year and noted an improvement in members’ response to annual dues.
Members were reminded that the new FGSCAA financial year ran from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
Annual membership dues remained ₦36,000, with applicable consequences for late payment continuing under the Association’s governing rules.
2025 Homecoming Planning
Second Homecoming Preparations
The meeting reaffirmed the intention to hold the 2025 Homecoming programme.
Kola Akinboyewa, representing the Social Committee, updated members on planning progress and reported that arrangements were underway to secure the event hall, including a planned initial payment.
Bukola Alamu introduced the proposed material for the Homecoming Gala Night, which was accepted during the meeting.
Members were encouraged to make progressive contributions toward the Homecoming programme through approved Association arrangements.
Projects for Festac Grammar School
Education Support & Scholarship Planning
The meeting discussed a proposed school-support initiative involving scholarships for Festac Grammar School students.
Bukola Alamu suggested that financial need should be considered in determining beneficiaries.
Members agreed that the scholarship proposal should remain pending until sufficient information and implementation criteria had been gathered.
The scholarship initiative was subsequently developed further at later 2025 General Meetings.
Association matters
Any Other Business
Group D Matter
The Chairman raised a matter involving funds generated within Group D for meeting-hosting purposes and emphasised the need for clearer handling of such funds to avoid recurrence of the issue.
Member Birthday Support
Imeobong Akpan suggested that the Association consider providing some form of support or recognition to members celebrating birthdays rather than discontinuing the practice entirely.

Hassan Yussuf thanked members for the support and goodwill shown to him.
Member recognition
Raffle for Dues-Paid Members
Gbemi Olatayo reminded the BOT Chairman about the proposed raffle intended to appreciate members who had paid their 2024/2025 annual dues.
