The meeting concluded following adjournment and closing prayer.

FGSCAA held its December 2024 Physical General Meeting on Saturday, 7 December 2024 at the Festac Grammar School premises.

Group C hosted the meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 12:05 PM.

The meeting reviewed the Association’s financial and membership position, committee activities, year-end planning and programme priorities for 2025.

Groups A–F

Group C Hosting

The Board of Trustees commended Group C for organising and hosting the meeting.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of the Group A–F hosting arrangement as a practical way of sharing responsibility, strengthening fellowship and encouraging active participation in Association activities.

The experience of Group C was held up as a positive example for subsequent hosting groups.

Matters arising

Adoption of Previous Minutes

Members reviewed the minutes of the previous General Meeting.

No amendments were considered necessary and the minutes were adopted as the working record of the Association.

Finance Committee

Financial Report

The meeting received a financial update covering project expenditure and annual membership dues.

The Finance Committee reported on income and expenditure associated with recent Association activities.

The meeting also reviewed the status of annual dues and noted that a substantial majority of members had paid their 2024/2025 annual membership dues.

Membership and Good Standing

The meeting considered the Association’s membership position and annual dues participation.

The report noted strong compliance among members with the annual dues obligation.

The discussion reinforced the importance of remaining in good standing and participating actively in the work of the Association.

Standing committees

Committee Reports

The meeting received updates from several committees.

  • Welfare Committee

    The Welfare Committee reported that members were generally doing well and encouraged members to continue looking out for one another.

  • Project Committee

    The Project Committee reported on the successful completion of its recent project activities and thanked members for their support.

  • Social Committee

    The Social Committee reported on preparations for the forthcoming Annual General Meeting and Awards programme.

The meeting considered programme priorities for 2025.

Priorities Considered

  • Tertiary scholarship support for graduating students
  • Spelling Bee Season 2

The discussion reflected the Association’s intention to continue building on its education-support programmes.

Fellowship

Member Welfare

The meeting also discussed Christmas welfare support for members and their families.

Members considered the possibility of providing festive gift items for members, with the final form of the support to be determined by the Board of Trustees.

This discussion reflected the Association’s continuing emphasis on member welfare and fellowship.

Recognition

Awards and Year-End Recognition

The meeting considered plans for member recognition and awards.

Members were informed that a voting process would be used to support the selection of award recipients.

The awards formed part of the Association’s broader year-end recognition activities.

Groups A–F

Continuation of Group Hosting Structure

The meeting reaffirmed that the existing group arrangement for hosting General Meetings would continue.

The Groups A–F structure remained an important mechanism for distributing responsibility for physical meetings and strengthening participation among members.

The 7 December 2024 General Meeting helped close an important year of institutional and programme development for FGSCAA.
