FGSCAA held its April 2025 Physical General Meeting on Saturday, 26 April 2025 at the Festac Grammar School premises.
The meeting was called to order at 12:03 PM.
The meeting reviewed ongoing Association matters and focused particularly on the 2025 scholarship programme, Homecoming planning, member welfare and new ideas for strengthening the Association’s long-term activities.
Board of Trustees
Opening Context
In the opening remarks, the Board of Trustees noted the greater stability and coordination being experienced within the Association and emphasised the importance of continued constitutional compliance.
Member welfare and health were also highlighted as important priorities.

Adoption of Previous Minutes
Members reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting.
A minor correction was made to a member’s name before the minutes were formally adopted as the working record.
Education support
2025 Scholarship Discussion
Under development
A substantial portion of the meeting was devoted to the proposed 2025 scholarship programme.
Members discussed possible selection criteria and how best to identify deserving students.

Career and Vocational Support
The meeting also considered the wider issue of career development for students.
Members discussed the possibility of creating career-awareness programmes and encouraging students to consider vocational and practical career pathways alongside conventional tertiary education.

Season 2
Spelling Bee
Deferred
The meeting reviewed plans for Spelling Bee Season 2.
Due to existing constraints, the programme was deferred to a later period rather than proceeding in 2025.
Fellowship
Member Welfare
The meeting reviewed aspects of the Association’s welfare arrangements.
Certain practices, including birthday cakes, were considered unsustainable and were discontinued.
The Association reaffirmed its commitment to meaningful welfare support for members and families.
27 years since graduation
2025 Homecoming
Proposed · planning stage
A major part of the meeting focused on planning for the 2025 Homecoming.
Members noted that the Association was marking 27 years since graduation from Festac Grammar School and that the Homecoming tradition was intended to take place periodically.
The meeting discussed a proposed two-night programme in December 2025.

The Association had increased certain welfare benefits, including support for members experiencing major family events such as childbirth.

Cooperative / Agriculture Discussion

Following discussion and a vote, members decided to retain the existing group naming structure.
